Has any work been done recently, like adding a radiator, or altering something.

So, its hot even after youve done an exchange.... as the previous person asked... did you just change the actuator or drain down/bung the system and change the body as well?

what was the water quality like when you drained it off? Have you touched a bypass?

It is fitted the right way round, with port A to the heating :rolleyes:

pleased you asked that mate, felt I would have been too condesending to ask it :D :LOL:

ok,answers :D

the water ran clear to start with then went black. i know my system runs no inhibitor.

i dont know what a bypass is?

the work i did was isolate the cold feed to the loft tank,fully drain system,fit new valve,wire in new valve, refill system adding cleaning solution to loft tank. bled all rads numerous times with pump running

i fitted the new valve the same way round as the old one, but that doesnt mean its right and i dont know how to tell? that said, if it was the other way round you wouldnt be able to access the manual dial

The valve will have 3 ports on it

AB = feed from boiler
B = Hot water (easy to think as B for Bathwater)
A = Central heating..

Port B is connected to the cylinder coil

Check these are the right way round.

Just out of interest is the hot water getting hot??

sorry, hot water is hot

Ok can you take the actuator off, and run the hot water, you can turn the shaft to by hand, does the heating still get hot.
