Why are worried about your pump?

It's 15 years old now, and a few months ago when I use to put the hot water on after 20-30 minutes it use to make an unbelievable loud noise, like a loud drilling noise but stopped when you turned it off, dunno if it was the pump making the noise, but thats seemed to stop and now when you put the water on it just makes a constant drowning noise till you turn it off, but when you turn the heating on it doesn't work.

Drain the system, replace the pump, stick double dose of Hyperflush in. Leave it for a month and see what happens.

There should be a draincock on one of the radiator pipes on the lowest floor, should being the operative word. It looks a bit like miniature tap, and has a little spout, about 1/2 inch long where you can fit a garden hose. Other end of hose in drain, and open the little tap.
If it is an open vent system, you may want to stop the header tank supply, otherwise it could take a while before it stops coming out of the hose.
