We have a Potterton Suprima 60 L boiler linked to a SysteMate 2000 storage system (can be switched to provide heating and hot water by electricity if the gas fails). It was installed by the builders Wimpey when the flat was built just over 3 years ago. No problems so far apart from the water pressure dropping due to a tiny leak, which was fixed.
Just recently there is an intermittent fault which causes the central heating to keep running even though it has gone past the time when the timer should have switched it off. I've checked the peg things on the timer you flick out when you want the boiler to kick in and out very carefully -- no problem there. The timer is located on the SysteMate.
It's easy to fix if I'm around -- just switch the central heating to off on the timer and wait for everything to cool down, then switch it back to 'controlled by timer' position.
Can anyone suggest what could be happening here? We're not about to attempt to repair it ourselves, just don't want to be told we need an expensive repair or new SysteMate when it is not necessary.
Thanks.
