When I swith on either H/W or C/H at timer it trips out all electrics at fuse box. It is not the timer or the pump and 3 way electric valve was new 6 months ago.
Can anyone advise
Cheers

Disconnect pump and see if mains still trips.

Check valve for leaks on spindle - water may have entered the actuator head.

I have fitted a new pump and the valve appears bone dry
any more suggestions

Just because the pump is new doesn't mean it works OK.

Start by disconnecting the easy parts first.

What boiler make/model do you have?

failing pump, water on actuater or shorting any other external controls its most likely the gas valve disconnect wiring to gas valve test between terminals see if you got continuity.

all should be done with power off! if your boiler has perm. live make sure its dead, some people use a seperate spur to supply it.

If he has the skills and test equipment to do that competently and safely then I dont think he would be asking for help here!

How about using an earth leakage clamp meter on each of the suspect parts until he finds one with a reading over 30 mA which could be tripping his RCD.

Agile, would this meter identify L-N fault? just wondering
