Challenge AU 1000 Spirit House Alarm

Hi,

I have disconected the battery from the unit and when I switch the mains off the alarm will sound. Can anyone tell me;

1. What is it running on?
2. Is the unit live with the mains off?
3. I wish to disconnect it as it is a pain in the arse.

There is a battery in the bell / siren that powers the bell / siren whenever the signal " do not ring " is removed. With no power in the panel there is no "do not ring" to the bell / siren so it sounds. This is for when a burglar cuts the wire to the bell thinking it will stop the alarm working.

3. If it hasn't stopped yet get your ladders out, open the bellbox and disconnect the battery. This may be a wire from a separate battery or a jumper or link on the circuit board if the battery is soldered on.
