not me, but some one i know has a renault something or other (big that all iknow about it) he got it brand new, but after a while head lamp went.

 "its under waranty, i will take it to dealer"

apointment made, car goes in (only one headlight, lamp required)

Thinks: i will sit and have coffee, be done in ten mins.

1/2 hr goes by, gets worried, looks into service bay, car up un "car lift" bod taking off front wheel, (same side as failed lamp) Panic sets in.

....er, er, excuse me, i only came in for a new headlight, lamp, why is your man taking front wheel off, is there a problem?

service man: ah i see sir, do i take it you havent tried changing this yourself then?

No, why? its under waranty

yes sir it is underwaranty, but with this model, to get to the back of the headlight, we have to take out the (some bit of kit) and then the front wheel, which allows access to the rear of the headlight.

Oh, thats ok then.

all in all job took just over an hour.

moral of this story ( sorry, no punchline) always check everything before you buy a car. oh it also has plastic front wings.

I just wondered has any one else had similar problem

I remember changing spark plugs on the old VW beetles - to get at one of them, you had to jack the car up and remove the wheel to get at the access cover

changing a headlight bulb not the headlight invovles taking hte bumper off!
