Changing MDF colour ?????

Hi.

I have an untreated MDF radiator cover but I want it to match the other furniture in the room which is a dark maple (example: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6415338/Trail/searchtext>SICILIA+DARK.htm)

Can anyone recommend a product to apply to the MDF to turn it this colour?

mdf will never look like real wood.

You can try a woodstain - they are available in test pots so you can try the colour on the unseen parts. Decide if you want glossy or satin for the best match. they are basically a sort of tinted varnish, but no as hard so will flex a bit without cracking.

MDF tends to be very dark when stained.

I don't necessarily want it to look like wood, I'm more interested in making it darker to match the other furniture.

Yeah, but I just wanted to see if there were any alternative solutions. At the moment, I'm thinking of going with this ....
