Hi all
I could have put money on it.
Plastic Xmas tree (quite a nice one) with built in fibre optic lights. Lamp in base. Lamp not working this ear. No power coming from transformer.
My question is, what of the myriad of numbers on the transformer do I need to match to get a replacement?

OUTPUT : 12VAC 3600mA 43.2VA

Any help much appreciated.

The 12 volt is fixed it must be 12 volt and likely will need to be AC. However the ma and VA are a minimum and transformers with larger output are not a problem.
Old one off a modem likely right size. 12VAC is common for computer stuff just use one with larger VA number.

What sort of modem pulls 3.6A? And almost all of them will be DC, not AC..

That one appears to supply 12V DC, 2.3A where your spec. is 12V AC, 3.6A, so the output would be somewhat wanting.

If the tree just has lights, it probably wouldn't care if the supply is AC or DC, but if it has a plastic disc spun by a small motor to give various lighting effects, then it will probably only work on an AC supply.

It does have a spinning disk so that's good to know - thanks
