The heat exchanger has just been replaced on my 11 year old Worcester Bosch boiler as it was kettling really noisily.
The Worcester engineer who carried out the repair said that judging by the smell there were too many chemicals in the system water making it very acidic (there was X100 inihibitor, X200 noise reducer and X800 for the last few days ago in a last attempt to improve the kettling!
He said the system needed both a hot and cold flush as he said there are no problems with sludge but the system water is "gassy". I asked did he mean a powerflush and he said no, just a hot and cold flush. He also mentioned buying a cleaner to run in the system for a few days.
Please can someone explain what the basic process is for a hot and cold flush and what cleaner might be suitable.
Many thanks,
Mike
