The instructions on my mixer shower (for my gravity fed system) say that I should take the feed directly from the cold water storage tank

Would you guys actually make a new connection into a storage tank to install a new mixer shower?

If not, can I assume that:

a) I would be daft to tee into the 22mm pipe feeding the hot water cylinder as this would create two draws on the same pipe while the shower is on, and

b) I could take the feed from the other 22mm pipe coming from the storage tank that feeds cold water to the bathroom etc?

If b is ok, would you recommend a non-restrictive isolator solely for the shower feed, or could I tee in after an existing isolator valve?

Many thanks.

Sorry, what do you mean by "take it straight from the cws"?

Straight in what way?

from the tank on its own supply to shower mixer.

straight meaning on its own no other pipework involved
