Is is normal for a combi boiler to ignite every few seconds? We have a prepayment meter and I know that's more expensive but the central heating seems to be costing a lot of money. Just checking to see if the boiler is faulty or if that's normal?

A few facts!

Model of boiler?

Number of rads?

Time on and time off?

It's a Ferroli Falcon. I assume rads is radiators? If so, 4. It ignites mostly about every 3 seconds. It sometimes goes about 15-30 seconds, rarely longer.

It sounds as if it could be a combustion problem which would need a reg gas engineer.

But could also be a lack of flow due to a faulty pump.

If all the radiators have thermostatic valves they could be turned low while the room thermostat (the electronic control box on the wall) is set too high.

Try turning the radiator that's nearest the room thermostat fully on (usually anticlockwise) and adjust the room thermostat for a lower temperature.

You dont often see TRVs installed with a cheap boiler like a Ferrolli
