combi boiler nightmare

I have a 3 year old Ariston Combi which has recently been re-located as part of a Kitchen extension. I now have two problems:

1) The hot water is just warm when the heating is OFF. It's fine when the heating is ON.

2) The timer switch seems to have stopped working properly. It rotates until its time to switch on/off and just gets stuck there.

Any ideas what the problems might be with 1) and how expensive is it to replace the timer switch.

get the installer who moved it back to check it out first, must be guaranteed mustn't it?
