Can anyone give me an idea as to what this problem might be. I will not be attempting any repairs myself, just want some advice on what may be wrong
It is a Halstead Ace High combi, and the problem is:
When the boiler is cold, (ie not used for some time) call for hot water works fine and is constant Temp, same for central heating. If the central heating is flame on and hot water is called for, the boiler will switch modes from central heating to hot water, no problem there.
The problem starts when the boiler is warm. If the heating has been on and the boiler is warm, when you use the hot water, nothing happens, just cold water. If the hot water has been on, for a shower for example, and you try to re-use the water a few mins afterwards, nothing happens, no hot water or heating till the boiler cools down.
The boiler does not go to lockout; it just doesn’t do any thing until it cools. This can be anything from 10 to 40 mins. Resetting the boiler does nothing.
