what does the fan do in a combi does it take air away or supplie the air

already replaced fan good shout from myself but i am waiting on an insulation panel so no heating just put boiler on for quick showers

What boiler? Most fans come assembled on the correct hood which completes the integrity of the casing seal, without which boiler is Imediately Dangerous.
