Confused by loop-in lighting fitting

The terminal is marked 'LOOP' - as well, if indeed the symbol is an earth (not clear enough to see properly) and shown, in the correct diagram, as connected to Line so it is extremely unlikely to be connected to the bayonet connector.

Is it not a throwback to when such things would be used with cables without CPCs?
Obviously they have had time to update them, though, but still no park for the CPC.

I agree that it's not clear from photo, but ...
It seems to have both. In my photo you can see "LOOP" but to the right of it is definitely one of these:

... my initial thought was that, being positioned next to a indentation in the moulding (on the left), the 'LOOP' might have related to a fourth terminal which was sometimes included in fittings using the same moulding.

Yes, I agree, now that we have seen a 'correct' diagram. I felt unable to take anything about the other one very seriously. I have to say that I don't recall ever having seen an earth terminal connected to the 'bayonet ring' in a lampholder (other than 'all metal' ones, of course!), but I thought I was being sensible by being (unusually!) cautious in terms of what advice should be given here! Maybe I got 'too cautious'!

I'm not so sure about that. In the pre-CPC days, I'm not sure that looping at a light fitting of any sort was a common practice and, IIRC, they just had two terminals in those days.
...but still no park for the CPC.
Indeed, and that is pretty odd, given taht there is sp[ace there for a fourth terminal.

Kind Regards, John

I have contacted Electrium and at their bequest sent them copies of your 'instructions' and a link to this post - hopefully they will resolve the matter.
Meanwhile, I would speak to your local Screwfix and draw their attention to the problem.
