Hi, Im having fitted a new hob to my kitchen and I was wanting to run the wiring in advance. I thought the hob would need 6mm cable but the instructions show a diagram with the following -

220-240 v - H05V2V2-F 2.5MM

The hob is 6.4 kw

Would 2.5mm cable be able to work safely with this?

All help appreciated.

Just barely under the best possible conditions. Personally I would run at least 4mm² cable for that hob.

The connection in the hob is to small to take 6mm as Ive tried it to make sure.Guess that leaves the 4mm or 2.5mm.

RUN 6MM CABLE TO THE COOKER OUTLET POINT REGARDLESS

Then use stupidly low sizes as the manufacturers tell you. ;)

Can I use 2.5mm cable from any electrical shop or do i have to use 220-240 v - H05V2V2-F 2.5MM as in instructions and if so how can i tell?
