Last night the surface mounted spots in my bathroom and the LED lights in the room next door flickered, buzzed and then died. No other lights were effected and the fuse (RCD?) didn't trip. Trying them periodically they would occaisionally buzz, flicker and even come on briefly. until they finally died. There is no apparent damage/water leaks in the roof space. the light fitting in one room was changed a month ago. Where should I start looking for the fault?

Start with the fitting changed a month ago, the feed from there to the next light is open circuit.
The Buzzing will also give you a clue to where the bad connection is.

Thanks.
Am I just looking for loose connections or should I keep an eye out for something else?

Sorry, I forgot to add that all the problem lights seemed to be buzzing.

Just a loose connection but look for signs of overheating as a high resistance joint will produce heat.
