Hi all
Just wondered if anyone can explain something for me.
I have a Main (think it is actually Baxi) combi 30 HE combi boiler which was fitted approx 5 months ago.
On reading the manual it says with the boiler cold and not switched on then the pressure should be between 0.5 and 1.0 and that when working the pressure should ideally be between 1 and 2 but no more than 2.5. So set it to 1.0 when cold. Now when heating clicks on the pressure does not increase it stays the same. Is this normal as reading other posts I thought it should increase. When hot water turned on pressure increases to 1.3.

Plus I have noticed that there is sometimes a fair bit of water going from the boiler. I only notice this as the pipe, although fitted to the waste pipe outside, a corner connection is not fitted properly and the water drips down from it (not constantly though..may even just be on starting up from cold?). This pipe (white plastic) starts from below the timer and goes out through the wall to outside. Any idea what this is and does this sound normal?

All the radiators work fine and the hot water is ok. Just have one small leak that I have taped up with silicone tape as is would be a nightmare to get to (rip up kitchen floor and skirting board and still not sure would get it) and one bathroom towel radiator that I need to bleed once a week. Hence I always keep an eye on the boiler pressure and need to top up occasionally.

Any advice re leak and boiler etc greatly appreciated. Thanks

the white plastic pipe is the condensate pipe and yes it is perfectly normal for it to have water running through it so that is normal , as for pressure dont worry about it sometimes it will rise sometimes it wont it depends on your size of system etc as long as the pressure is about 1.0 when cold thats perfectly normal , sounds like you are worring for northing
