Connecting a new bottle trap to what might be a 32mm waste

Pushfit - Ugh!... use weld.

Not sure which bit won't fit from your description; is it that the bottle trap won't go onto the waste in the basin?... sometimes a good push is required and then tighten it up... but always check well that it is sealed. Worst case use a stanley knife to pare a bit off and ease it on.... but check afterwards for leaks.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Just to clarify I'm using the push-fit conversion bend to connect the bottle trap to the waste pipe. The conversion bend fits fine onto the bottle trap, but waste pipe does not seem to 'push-fit' into the conversion bend. It's too big. It's ~32mm but the pipe plastic seems abit too big.

You are probably trying to fit a pushfit connector onto a solvent weld pipe... solvent weld and push-fit pipes are different sizes, not by much, but usually not compatible... to make matters worse different makes of push fit are only compatible with their own pipe... either use a solvent spigot or use a compression elbow...
sometimes what looks like an easy job ends up taking far longer!!!

Sounds like the waste pipe is weld so you will need a weld version of the elbow and some solvent. It's easy to use and a lot more reliable than pushfit.
