Hi,

I'm thinking of purchasing this Grade 3 Elmdale ADT bell box:

However, the LED circuit board seems to be connected onto to a battery, much like with a dummy box.

The green led circuit board has screw terminals for black/red cables that are currently connected to the battery.

Is it just a case that I also need to connect black/red cables from the siren housing to these terminals?

There is currently a loose black cable coming out of the siren housing and a looped white cable, but no red able.

Thanks

I think you should have brought a new bell box with instructions and not second hand
That is an old bell box at least afew years old
Could be old car stock from engineer?
The black wire is battery link and loop wires are eng test timer link

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yeah you are probably right that a newer model would have been better!.

Can i simply hard wire the black and red cables from the 6 core alarm cable to power the LED circuit board, as well as obviously going to the siren?

thanks

Power it with another battery
The led pcb is unprotected from the elements.if you get water on the pcb and it is connected to your sounder then that could blow the bell fuse in the alarm control panel then all hell will be released with the sounders ringing and you will not be able to stop the bell from ringing for 20 minutes.
If your sounder is the old elmdene 200 series then there is NO 20 minute cut off device in that bell box
