Connecting my Extractor Fan Again

Hello All,

Thanks for your replies yesterday.

On closer inspection I have an existing cable of 4 wires. There is a Yellow, Red, Blue and Earth. The Red and Yellow are live.

On my new bathroom extractor fan I have only 2 terminals. One that says for permanent live and the other for neutral.

Once again, thanks for any guidance.

red will normally be the permanent live, and the blue neutral.. but without looking in the light or switch ( depending on where it's fed from ) there is no way we can say for certain..

try the red and blue, and if it goes on and off with the light, then try the yellow and blue instead..
