What actually happens if you live in a conservation area but do things you shouldnt ie, change the windows and door. or replace a concrete drive for cobblestones or add a open style oak beam porch to it ?

I have not done any of these things!!

However where I live I have noticed people seem to do as they please.

Well it may be a PITA but it does help to protect an area, we don't all want to live in a upvc ridden hell etc (as I do btw).

@ the OP theoretically the LA could prosecute by in today's climate its pretty unlikely.
