COOKER FITTING QUESTION PLEASE.

Hi guys, I have had a gas fitter exchange my old cooker over to a new one. That's all okay. Now the new gas cooker has to be connected to the electricity in order for the ignition e't'c' to work. I have a cooker switch on my wall, do I put a plug on the new flex and use this switch ?
