Does it have a pipe to outside? If so, vented.

No such thing as vent and recirc. It will be one or the other.

Well thats not correct, wickes sell zanussi cooker hoods for built in kitchens, they state ducted or recirculation, as does zanussi website. The difference is you fit a blank plate over the ducting port. Mine has a facility to put a vent pipe on but i wondered how to tell difference. I think the difference maybe what type of filter or maybe different fan.

Yes - OR - you choose which you want. You cannot have both.

Exactly - blocking one or the other.

There is no difference. It depends how you fit it.
Either you vent it to outside through a pipe or you block the pipe vent and it is blown back into the room through the filter.
Without the filter on recirculated it would be useless.

No. you remove the filter if you want it vented to outside.
