Hi!
I recently bought an Indesit KD3C11X/HP as a replacement for an old Belling compact 4 hob-oven its connected via a chunky (possibly 2 core wire) to a switch on the wall. when i switch over ovens next week can i just switch off the oven unscrew the wires and then wire them into the new cooker correspondingly... am i over simplifiying a difficault situation or am i doing it right??
Thanx
NATALIA :(

Hello, this is the dragon.

A few q's:

Do you know what size fuse/MCB controls your old cooker? With a bit of luck, when you look in your Consumer Unit (fuse box) you will find a neat label saying "Cooker" above a device marked B32 or B40 or 30Amps or something similar.

To get an idea of age and condition, what colour is this Consumer Unit, and can you see a makers name and model on it?

Do you know the load (kW or Amps) of the new cooker?

Is the cable you describe flat, white or grey, and about half an inch wide x quarter of an inch thick?

Does it actually go into a big switch marked "Cooker" or does it go into a white plastic connection box in the wall?
