COPPER GAS PIPES

Asking this on behalf of a mate at work so apologies if it sounds a bit vague .
He wants to have his gas pipes in his kitchen redirected (dont panic he is getting a pro in) but before he does he wants to know if they have to be surface mounted or can they be sunk in and plastered over ,this will affect other improvements he has planned

They should not really be hidden but many people do!

All joints must be soldered though.

And any gas pipes in the wall must have a metal protecting cover over them, eg metal half conduit or whatever the proper name is.
