Hi All,

Anyone found a reasonable quality cordless drill that has a chuck that will firmly fasten onto a small diameter drill bit, say, 1mm.? I'd prefer a drill with a spindle lock.

I looked at the new Ryobis lately and though the jaws meet well, there is too big a gap. I then looked at a blue 14.4v bosch which could have been okay but the jaws looked rather roughly finished so it was hard to tell.

The Wickes pro range have a Jacobs chuck with a from 1mm spec but I don't know if these tools are likely to be any good.

I use small drill bits for pilot holes quite a lot and it annoys me when my Makita slips and I have to use two hands to tighten it.

Cheers,

Hello Gcol,

What a good suggestion! I had no idea that those things existed. I'll follow it up immediately.

Thanks very much
