I was getting ready to insulate my loft. but was told to ask my energy supplier if they would do it, as they might subsidize the cost. So I phoned them & other energy companies and they then put me onto their contractors. But this was the answer I got from them. They wanted to know my customer number at my energy company (I am with Scottish & Southern Energy)
With no loft insulation currently in my 3 bed semi 45 square m roof space
the cost with the subsidy from the energy company will be only £25.
But if I already had insulation it would have been higher about £200.
That will be putting in the recommended 270mm deep of insulation in and doing the water tanks & pipes.

I think I will let them do it as I don't think that price can be beaten unless any of you know better.

If I want floor above insulation that will cost £25 per m (I think I will do that bit my self )
:D
