Hi,
We've recently bought a 1998 house and I have just noticed a crack whilst in the garage.
The crack starts at the damp-proof course and propagates up through the blocks themselves (I don't know if they are breeze blocks or something else) and ends about 2/3 up the wall. At its worst, it is less than a millimetre wide.
The crack does not propagate below the damp proof course, nor into the floor or ceiling.
I noticed it as I was about to install a chin up bar but have decided against this.
There are already some rather large screw holes in the wall from the previous owner so its probable that he had something heavy attached to the wall.
I have uploaded a couple of photos to drop box, not sure if they are visible to everyone.
I plan to monitor the situation over a year by taking photos, but I want to know whether I should should be genuinely concerned and call a surveyor out tomorrow or not.

Thanks for any input.
