Cracks

Hi,

Was wondering what would be causing this cracking at the bottom of this rendered wall. The wall is north-east facing (southern hemisphere, Australia) so gets full sun from morning to midday (see attached picture). There is a hollow sound when tapping on the cracks.
The cracks run at various intervals along the bottom of the wall (only under the line). There are no cracks anywhere else on the wall.
