I would like to know if I can fix this problem or I need to buy a new cooker.

I have a Creda c363e free standing cooker. The main oven stopped working.

All other functions, the fun, the hubs, the top oven, and the grill are working.

So just only the bottom oven does not heat up.

Do you think I should try and fix it or need to buy a new cooker

Thank you very much in advance

Turn off the power and remove the back plate inside the main oven cavity.

Check the element

This is assuming that you have a timer that is not on Auto first ?

I will try to have a look now.

How can I check the element?

Thank you

It is not on Auto.
I opened the back plate inside the main oven cavity.

I am not sure what I should be looking at, so I have attached the picture.

Ok so it does not look obviously blown (most do) from your pic so if you have a multimeter you can remove the element by undoing the top screw and pulling it towards you gently with the power off and unhook it from the bottom bracket.

There are two wires attached to the back remove them but do not let them go back through the holes as you will have to take the back off (there is usually quite a bit if spare wire)

Test the element it should read about 27 ohms with the multimeter.

If you dont have a meter and cant borrow one look for holes or splits in the element.

New ones cost between 10 and 40 pound depending where you get them and whether they are original or pattern parts.

I have not got the tool.

I may get one for my late christmas present!!!

Thank you very much for your help.
