1996 M-Reg Ford Escort 1.3 injection Recently after a couple of runs of about 60 miles the engine cuts out, after about 10 minutes it will start again but cuts out a few times before it will run properly again - Im a bit puzzled about this so does anyone have an answer? Cheers Geoff

I am a bit out of date with petrol engines as the last one I drove had a carburetter and distributer 
But, I believe your car has an in tank petrol pump, can you hear it running, does it run when the car won't start? The pump or its power supply could be faulty.

Just a mere stab in the dark mate but Escorts were notorious for getting water into their fuse boxes.....may or not be an issue with yours!
60 miles is a fair old run so any component that is likely to have heat related failure should have packed in before then.....but if you can, next time it packs in, check for a spark and fuel delivery - but you'll have to be moving in those 10 minutes!
