cutting 1" sand stone tiles

can any one advise me please?
i am going to tile my bath room using 600mmx600mmx35mm some indian sand dtone tiles that my mother in law gave me.
the job is straight forward apart from the cutting.
how do i cut a circle out off a tile to go around the floor channeled soil outlet. and cut the tiles to fit around the door frame.
i have seen on this forum suggestions to cut slate using diamonds and grinders wet and dry. is this necessary for sand stone?
what about the circle or perhaps two semi sircles?
