Not sure if this is strictly a plumbing problem but here goes :-

We are refurbing an attic bedroom and as part of that process we are replacing the original radiator with a new one. The problem is that the old radiator is 2.5metres long and double panel - it weighs an absolute ton.

So I was considering cutting it into more manageable pieces in order to get it down two flights of stairs.

Is it possible to chop it up using a metal cutting disc in an angle grinder? if not does anyone have any other suggestions or has anyone overcome a similar problem in any other way.

Thanks

Last time I had that problem, the rad. went out through the dormer window, and got lowered down two ladders resting on the window sill with a block and tackle. Use a decent pair of gloves if you try that - rope burns aren't nice.
