1. Yes it is DIYable.
2. You need to be aware of the requirements for the base (no MDF, preferably marine ply, needs to be wider and longer than CWST), for access to the float valve for maintenance and for insulation / connections etc.
3. A normal sized one weighs 1/4 tonne when full, so needs weight spreading / over a load bearing wall.
4. Make sure you can get it through the loft opening. You can get "collapsing" circular ones if this is a problem.
5. Make sure connections are properly made. E.g. shower take off lower than cold feed to hot water cylinder.
