Hi,

I have a recently moved into a dormer bungalow. I have noticed that the air, bed linen and cardboard boxes in the dormer feel damp.

There are no obvious damp patches or mold growing anywhere.

Could it just be poor ventilation?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

As above.

Essentially, you are stuck with the dormer construction you have - so maintaining a constant c/h temp, and a worked out system of ventilation for the whole bungalow are the first things to do.

dormers are frequently badly insulated. Have a look in winter to see if condensation appears, usually on the cheeks.

Water vapour is lighter than air, so will rise upstairs, especially if you have excess humidity e.g. from wet washing or bathrooms without effective extractor.
