Hi,

I need to find out how to sort this wall out, it looks like it has quite a bad damp problem.

The wall is probably 4ft below ground level (as we have a sloping hill garden). The plaster has blown quite badly, however then brickwork behind look quite ok.

I need to get this sorted so I can then plaster it and make it good for a utility room.

Can anyone advise if this is easily down, for example, can i just rip off the old plaster, blast dry the room, paint it with some damp proof chemical then plaster it or does it need a whole load of work.

Picture below

Thanks in advance

I`m no expert, but if it`s below ground level I`d look at getting it tanked

I used damp proof cream,u can get kit with drills for single or double brick walls.Use it every 100 mm

That is for a horizontal DPC.

If the OP's wall has ground up against the external face, then he will need to do as Filo says above, or remove the ground
