Looking for some advice not sure if this is the right chat. I’ma gas engineer to trade so this is out my area. My gable end is letting damp through to the inside wall. I’ve had wildly barring quotes to fix it. It’s an old brick house so no pkaster board. I’ve been qouted to damp wash treat external other guy said damp wash paint it then damp wash it again and drill holes to spray foam into the wall. Qoutes have ranged from £800 to £3000 what should I expect ball park figure and what trade actually does this work is it roughcasters painters plasters. also is a bungalow with loft conversion any help much appreciated thanks

OP,
You dont say whether the wall is cavity or solid - which is odd for a gas engineer?
Neither do you say if there's any insulation on the wall - also odd?
Is the floor solid?
Is there a chimney breast?
Are you on a hillside?

odd are you the fbi ffs. It’s my mother’s house I’ve been there once it’s an old house I do say it has no plaster board old walls. Yes there’s a chimney breast. if you don’t have a helpful info pipe down.

May be time to hack off old render and re do....

That's a good reply - you'e found the forum troll. All ???? and no answers , or ones that are wrong ! I'm a retired plumber so can't offer good advice, but there are good trades on here that will know what's what. Just wait for them to come on. ;)

OP,
Thats funny - J. Edgar Hoover would not be amused.
Actually, I'd love to be a G-Man for a day - interviewing Stormy Daniels: "Just the facts ma'am" and "what did the President do next?"
Also lifting everyone I didn't like - I've watched CopsTV and know how to do it.

OP, if you want more advice then I'll gladly give it to you later on this evening.
