Hi,
I have installed a complete new valve. The actuator gets warm even if the pipes are cold for a long time.Is this normal?

I would check your wiring. The actuator should only receive 240VAC when there is a demand for CH.

When on DHW it will rest at the spring return position.

is it a 3 port valve ?
it will stay warm if heating was the last port of call.
because the valve will be held in last position by the grey wire.
so the motor will still be operating even though no heating/hw are on.

if hw was last port of call the valve will be in its relaxed position so will cool down
as motor is not being used.

hi,
thanks for replies.there is 240v on the grey wire,so presume motor is energised, hence the warmth

you got it.
if you have the hw as last port of call or you isolate the fused spur then back on again it will reset the valve to relaxed position and the motor will cool as its not working.

Go and stand in the corner and repeat one hundred times .
I must try to be like Agile.

why would you want to be like agile ?
