If the connectors are good and you know the PSU is also good then it will very likely be a motherboard. As its prebuilt by a large system integrator it will almost certainly have a specific motherboard which you wont be able to fund other than from HP and will cost 10 times more than it should.

A brief Google reveals its a fairly lowly spec (including a very obscure motherboard) however it did do what you wanted it to do then a decent replacement motherboard will only set you back £30 however getting the thing to interface with those nasty external PSU's are a PITA. Bin it otherwise new mobo, PSU and case to house the proper PSU. £80-£90.

Have written it off and salvaged all the useful stuff from inside - by ebay prices, about £40 worth!
