Have just had some decking delivered, its the pressurised type?
Some web sites say when laying them 'Put them together to allow for shrinkage' other web sites say to leave a gap between 2 & 5mm

Many thanks in advance!

5mm looks and is the best. Use a spacer at each end (and in the middle, if you have the time or the help) of each board, having got the first one straight and true.

I Agree with rabbitpoo,
Make sure the first piece is dead straight and put a 5mm spacer between the fixed peice of decking and the one you are fixing as you go along, this will make it easier for you to pull out any bows in the timber

absolutly agree. If you put them together with no spacing youll have some very intresting results as it expands and contracts!

also fix it one end first and work your way up using a spacer in the middle as they can be less than straight!
