Can anyone tell me the procedure for descaling a central heating system
eg= after the initial draining of the system, you then add descaler, how long do you run the system with the descaler? and then how many times do you drain and refill before adding inhibitor?

Competency is a must is you are going to do it properly.

DS40 will go a proper job.

Read instructions on neutralising / flushing.

Its unlikely to be "scaled" which means calcium and magnesium carbonates.

Much more likely to be oxide sludge. Before a professional attempts to deal with cleaning a system he will identify the compounds causing the problems and then choose chemicals which are appropriate!
