Difference between PAR38 and R80 spot light bulbs

Thanks all

I went to have a look at some at B&Q and the PAR38 seems to be a weather sealed bulb used for exterior flood-lighting as it gives off a diffused wide area flood of light.

The R80 (and R series generally) give a more focused and narrower beam spot with a little side spill. These are more useful for internal, more directed light.
