Hi Guys,
I have a client that wants a shower screen fitted. The problem is that there is no proper support to fit it to, see diagram & photo.
I have 2 options,
1 is to fit a small 6mm glass panel to the wall & bottom and then fix a support that i can screw the shower door onto.
2. to have a special shower door custom made with another glas panel hinged to it. (confusing but see sketch)

I need some ideas as she is getting impatient. Let me know what you would do and what materials you would use.

Regards
Vinny

I'd employ a professional who knows what they're doing and doesn't have to resort to a DIY Forum for advice!

i'd sod the job off for what its worth in time in getting a 1 off screen made.

I've considered an issue like this, as to fit a shower, in my home, there would be pipes on show, and would look awful. But if the bath was installed the other way round, then the pipes could be concealed (stud wall), and a far neater job.

So I suggest swapping the bath round, facing a solid wall (not pictured), as the current setup would cause all types of steaming up issues/leaking etc..

Otherwise you'd have to custom build an enclosure, that would look awful, and feel claustrophobic? and cause access issues?

Did you fit the bathroom? If so why didn't you design it a bit better?
If she has called you in afterwards then its back to the original fitter.
Are you the new plumber on site?

Do as seco says and walk. Not worth you time to get involved.

Neither solution will work as it still leaves the window unprotected and water will splash into window reveal.
Would be better to move the shower head adjacent to mirror and fit a 360 degree shower curtain.

Is the option of rotating the bath 180 degrees, not an option? The OP seems to have disappeared. Rotate bath, install shower at new tap end, job done, shower screen installed upto solid wall fixing. Cures a whole load of issues. Bit of work replumbing the taps and bath drain, but you are installing new plumbing for the shower.
