Digital switchover

I

imamartian

Well it's finally happening where we are... which i suppose is a good thing, apart from the hassle and the outlay on digiboxes etc.

Can anyone suggest where i might get some advice about the bast way to wire up my house so that i can get the new digi signal on old tellys in the kids bedrooms?

Do i need to buy a digibox for each telly? or can i get one digibox and feed the signal to the other tellys? Will co-ax still work?

Is there a difference in the quality v cost of cable?

Thanks

You can watch one channel per Digibox so figure out how many different programmes you'll want to watch simultaneously and that's your number of Digiboxes (or TVs with built-in digital). The rest can share a programme from one of the Digiboxes, via a cable or wireless videosender.

For reliable reception, coax should be double-screened like WF100. Good quality costs.

You have to decide whether you want Freeview (aerial), or satellite TV from Sky, FreesatFromSky or Freesat (from the BBC/ITV consortium) all some/all of them. That choice might be governed by how good your signal is.

For satellite TV distribution (plus Freeview if required) you may need a multiswitch or a Loft Box. They do different things.

There are many choices to be made. I'll give you some links to information:
