Hi, I would like a dimmer switch on my bedroom ceiling but now I've fitted it the light doesn't work at all. Is it possible the light I have is not compatible with a dimmer switch?

Thanks,

cmh.

It's kind of chanderlier effect with three separate lights, 40W bulbs.

Also, what terminals does the dimmer switch have, and which wires did you put in each one?

I'm wondering if it may be the bulbs, they may have blown as it did work for a few mins (not dimming but at least turning on and off) when I first put it in. Will check the bulbs, maybe they need to be a higher wattage.

try answering the questions ban all sheds put to you.

Why on the ceiling?

What terminals on the switch?

What wires where in the switch?

What wires do you have at the switch point?
