Help needed please !
i am changing all the light switches and sockets in the house, which has been quite straight forward so far. I have 2 lights in our lounge on a double switch, which i took off and didnt realise i had to mark the wires, i now want to put a dimmer switch on, but i feel i have tried evry combination but can now only get 1 of the 2 lights to work... i have a red wire + a small bit of red wire which was linked to the main red and into another link...a yellow wire and a blue wire... the new switch has com and L1 -L2 on each switch, any help please

It sounds like you need to link the two commons together. As an educated guess red could be permanent live so this needs to connect in to common too.

Then I'd try blue to L1 on one switch and yellow to L1 on the other.

If that doesn't work then you need to identify which is permanent live and pop it in with the commons, then the other two to the L1s
