Dishwasher Detergent in the Salt compartment

My mother has mistakenly put detergent in the salt compartment of her dishwasher. Will this cause any problems and how can we reverse the situation?

I would think that within a few cycles the detergent would wash away, or you could try a garden hose put in the salt compartment & gently run, might wash it away quicker. I think the only problem you will have is from the lack of salt.
