I have bought a new replacement semi integrated Dishwasher which will be positioned underneath a gas hob.
Can anyone tell me how I can protect the top of the dishwasher from the heat generated when the hob is in use.
I was hoping to use some sort of thermal insulating mat/blanket.
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers.

Ours doesn't get hot underneath, not even warm. The hob is a gas Zanussi and it's fitted into a worktop which like many (unless you have granite or marble) is essentially MDF and hardly fire proof.

The hob is about the same thickness as the worktop, but it does have a metal base, which is just visible below the worktop. However, it stays absolutely cold even when the hob's been used. We keep tea towels in the drawer below. If yours is the same, you won't need any insulation.
