hi I have just removed my bathroom tiles (2 rows) however I also managed to pull off most of the plasterboard as well, including a rather large hole! Should I add plaster or renew the plaster board? what should I be doing? Thanks for any advice !![/list]

I'd patch plaster it. you don't have to be good at it if you're tiling over the top. if the hole is big then stick a piece of cardboard in it to block it up so the plaster can stick to something

I bought i bag of gypsum plaster. does anyone know the right consistency to apply it? What happens when it starts to crack is this normal ie drying out?
thanks in advance

cut the board back to the stud and replace theres no need to involve plaster if your tiling over.

The cracking is due to the water being sucked out before it has time to set. To slow this down, give the wall that you are going to plaster, 1 or 2 coats of watered down PVA, let the fist one dry then apply the second coat of PVA and then plaster over. That should slow down the drying speed.
